Thelma
Not to be confused with Thelma and Louise, this 2024 surprise hit comedy features June Squibb (aged 94) in the leading role as a pensioner who is scammed out of $10,000 and sets out to get her money back. The journey, "a Tom Cruise-inspired action arc, if the obstacles were stairs and the gadgets hearing aids, is a delight to behold". For her performance - including doing some of her own stunts - June won the Critics Choice Super Award for Best Actress in an Action Movie.
